In the doorway

the wisdom between the stones no longer bright and brash
my mind stopped with a jolt
a night misspent as tangible as the air
hidden footsteps on grown up sideways
sleep stalked as the body tripped
cough as a piece of research and discover
up the hill away from buildings unlocked
thick skull pushed the dirty blankets
the tall cathedrals improbable yet remained
with each year that thrown at my ears
boisterous streets unsure of melancholy or melodrama
these were not some worries slipping from my shoulders
fogs muffled the homeward grave
the mustiness of an envelope with the passing of time
a more measured presence behind power and glory
exactly scratched, but translated into sanctity
her ironed body laid along in screams
