Kyi Zaw Aye is an award-winning poet who lives in Ahlone, Monywa. He started writing poetry in 1995/1996. Since 2000, his poems have been featured in periodicals including Cherry, Style Thit, Mhyar Nat Maung and Han Thit. He is the author of three books of poetry; ‘An Honest Fruit (2004),’ ‘ Geographical Position (2009),’ and ‘Fifty Years (2015).’ He is the founder and editor of ‘Poetry Voice (a periodical of poetry and poetics),’ which came out in 2014. His poem ‘Diaries of Melancholy’ was awarded Maung Chaw Nwe Poetry Prize in Pyi in 2005, ‘A Rare Creature’ was awarded a poetry prize in Lat Putta in 2008, and ‘Fifty Years’ was awarded Middle Yoma Poetry Prize in Pyinmanar in 2014.
